DSİ 2. Bölge Müdürü Ceylan, Efes Antik Kenti’ni 2 bin 500 yıl sonra yeniden denizle buluşturacak Efes Antik Kanal Projesi’nde ilk etabın yüzde 99 tamamlandığını bildirdi.

DSİ 2. Bölge Müdürü Saadettin Ceylan, yaptığı yazılı açıklamada, “UNESCO Dünya Mirası” listesindeki Efes Antik Kanal Projesi‘nin ilk bölümünde çalışmaların tamamlanma aşamasına geldiğini belirtti.

Mayıs başında ilk etabı bitireceklerini vurgulayan Ceylan, “Efes Antik Kenti’ni, 2500 yıl sonra yeniden denizle buluşturmayı hedefleyen projenin ilk etabı yüzde 99 tamamlandı. Projenin ilk etabı kapsamında Pamucak sahili ile İzmir-Kuşadası yolu arasına kanal girişi ile 250 metre uzunluğunda 100 metre genişliğinde bir yat limanı inşa ediyoruz. Proje için bölgeye 1430 fore kazık çaktık. 10 bin metrekarelik mermer kaplama işinin ise 9000 bin metrekarelik kısmını bitirdik.” ifadelerini kullandı.

Efes’e 2500 yıl sonra teknelerle yolculuk yapılacak

Efes Antik Kenti’ni yeniden denizle buluşturacak Antik Kanal Projesi, 2 etaptan oluşuyor. Projenin ilk etabında DSİ 2. Bölge Müdürlüğü, 600 metre uzunluğunda giriş kanalı ve yat limanı inşa edecek.

İkinci etapta ise Pamucak sahilinden Efes Limanı’na kadarki alan temizlenecek, kanal boyunca tarihi dokuya uygun kesme taşlar döşenip çevre düzenlemesi yapılacak.

Efes Antik Kenti ve limanı, Küçük Menderes ve Marnas çayının getirdiği alüvyonlar nedeniyle 2 bin 500 yıl içerisinde denizden 9 kilometre kadar uzaklaştı ve antik kent bugünkü halini aldı. Proje tamamlandığın 2 bin 500 yıl sonra antik kente özel teknelerle yeniden yolculuk yapma imkanı olacak.​​​​​​​

Within the scope of the first phase of the project, there is a canal entrance between Pamucak coast and İzmir-Kuşadası road with a length of 250 meters and a width of 100 meters. We are building a marina. We have driven 1430 bored piles in the area for the project. We have completed 9000 square meters of the 10 thousand square meters marble coating work.” used the phrases.

Travel to Ephesus by boats after 2500 years

The Ancient Canal Project, which will bring the ancient city of Ephesus together with the sea, consists of 2 stages. In the first phase of the project, DSI 2nd Regional Directorate will construct a 600-meter-long entrance canal and a marina.

In the second stage, the area from Pamucak coast to Ephesus Harbor will be cleaned, cut stones suitable for the historical texture will be laid along the canal and landscaping will be done.

The ancient city of Ephesus and its port were 9 kilometers away from the sea in 2,500 years due to the alluvium brought by the Küçük Menderes and Marnas Stream, and the ancient city took its present form. 2,500 years after the project was completed, there will be the opportunity to travel to the ancient city with private boats.​
